Intake Questions Artists should respond to some of the following questions as part of their submission: 1. What is the title of your submitted artwork, and what does it represent? 2. How does your piece reflect your vision of a better world? 3. What story, question, or truth does this work ask viewers to confront? 4. Did you know that art from the Enlightenment period often reflected and reinforced the slave trade, colonial power, and Eurocentric dominance? 5. If yes, how does that awareness appear, challenge, or shift within your artwork?

Canvas Requirements: Work must be created on a gallery wrapped canvas 24 x 36 inches or smaller. Sculpture must be 48" or smaller, and acceptable digital format are minimum 300 dpi, .jpg, .pdf, .mp4 (video) or .mp3 (audio).

● Artists may speak directly to camera, narrate over images, or combine both

As part of this project, artists are also invited to submit a short video response for possible inclusion in documentary, educational, and exhibition materials. The video may include: -an introduction to you as an artist -your thoughts on the exhibition theme -your creative process -your reflections on history, reconstruction, and the world you want to see now -This material may be used in connection with documentary storytelling surrounding the exhibition and its broader public engagement.
